You are making a book to show a younger student how fossil fuels are made.  You will draw pictures of the formation of either coal or oil/natural gas.  You will explain each step in your own words (make sure a younger student can understand it!)

Use THIS website to help you create your book.

ALSO

If doing COAL, define the following words:
-peat
-sediment
-ignite
-coal

If doing OIL/NATURAL GAS, define the following words:
-sediment
-permeable rock
-impermeable rock
-oil

  • Go to Kidblog
  • Sign in and start a new post
  • Title it 'Persuasive Writing'
  • Type your paper.  You do not need a heading in a blog (we will add that later in Microsoft Word).  Type out your four parapraphs.  Push 'Enter' twice at the end of a paragraph.
  • Use font size '3 (12pt)'
  • Use font family Arial, Helvetica, Times New Roman, or Tahoma
  • Publish your paper when you're finished.
  • Go read 4 people's paper (pick 2 people you normally work with and 2 people you don't normally work with).
  • In the comments, give suggestions for revisions and edits.  Say which paragraph and which sentence the edit or revision is so they know what you're talking about.  Be respectful as you suggest edits (avoid 'That sentence sounds stupid.  You should change it')
  • CLICK HERE for our editing/revising padlet to help you.
